- Before you go travel or in your local area, find out type of museums in the area. Usually there are art museums, science museums or natural history museums, transportation museums such as car, plane, trains and so on. There are lot of tech or gadgets museums that many guys would like as well.
- Try to find out more about the museums either by online website or travel brochure from the hotels. That way, you will know when the museum is open, closed, how much is the admission fee and what are the current exhibits they are showing.
- Even if you have gone to a museum before, you can surely visit again with friends or family as many zoo and museums tend to have new exhibits showings so you will find something new in next visit.
- Find out about parking fees, picture and video taking permissions before going or ask when you get there so there will be no problem while you are inside.
- Wear comfortable shoes, clothes with layers to be comfortable. Never wear high heel shoes when visiting a large museum or any zoo.
- Many museums may have self guided tour, so ask for a map. Some of them may offer free or paid tour for special behind the scene guide and it might be worth it, depending on your interest. Some place also offer audio tour so ask about it.
- Ask the front desk how long the visit should take to see everything, see things in relaxed matter. When you are in hurry to see it all, it does not give complete experience.
- Many museum building are also piece or art, so check out the architecture and history behind it.
- Carry water bottle with you and little snack. Eat when outside the exhibit not inside to respect the pieces per their rules.
- Many zoo and museums have cafe or eating area, so you can always eat there, if you do not want to drive far for lunch.
- If you are traveling with children, tell them about the rules and show them details so they too will appreciate the beautiful history and learn something new.
- There will be plenty of rest rooms and trash cans, so dispose any trash you have in there and keep the place clean.
- If you can not see it all, that is fine, just do not over do it. Relax and have fun.
- If you go to museum when they are about to close in hour or so, ask them for discount price admission, if they allow it.
- If you like to save money, many museum and zoo have free days or discount days admission, so visit those days to save money.
- Check to see if visit is age appropriate, while most zoo and museums are kids friendly, haunted or certain museums may not be suitable for young children just yet.
